The plumber’s ashtray…

I’m a heavy smoker. Not proud of it. But there it is.
(Here’s something that has resonated with me enough to want to share:
“Every cigarette I’ve ever smoked served a purpose,” writes Gregor Hens. “They were a signal, a medication, a stimulant or a sedative, they were a plaything, an accessory, a fetish object, something to help pass the time, a memory aid, a communication tool or an object of meditation.”)
When I looked long enough at some scrap wood left over from the tray I had made, they had resolved themselves into this ashtray design. There were two challenges: to make the cigarette-resting place wide and long enough to be able to just rest the cigarette instead of doing a precarious balancing act (that too no matter how the ashtray was oriented with respect to where one was sitting), and to make it burn-proof with material easily accessible and applicable. So the inner lining was made of plumber’s M-Seal.
Do you like it?
