poem: need vs want

needs are for the body
wants are for the mind
everything else you have learnt
can safely be left behind

needs keep you alive
wants keep you going
needs keep you healthy
while wants keep you glowing

needs must be met
but wants you must get
else what you are and what you are meant to be
you will very soon forget

more needs make you greedy
more wants make you a poet
these two will never meet
they will never perform a duet

yet do they meet in every man
and make him a confused soul
and the need to want and the want to need
end up in consuming his whole.
